The Knightsbridge PME School of Cake Decorating was launched in 2004 with a mission to share its extensive knowledge of cake decorating. It remains at the forefront of innovative teaching ideas and courses and with a team of highly talented teachers including international authors, judges, contributors to magazines and gold medal winners has grown to be one of the largest independent schools in the UK. Our flagship school is based in Enfield, London and provides a modern, light and comfortable air conditioned classroom with flat screen televisions to ensure that no detail is missed and regularly attracts a large intake of students from around the globe.

PME Professional Diploma was introduced in 2006 providing a certificate course, divided into three modules, Sugar paste, Sugar Flowers and Royal Icing & Piping with a Masters certificate awarded when all three modules have been successfully completed. The growth, demand and interest in these courses has been amazing and to date are now being taught by PME approved teachers in over 50 countries. 2016 saw the introduction of the PME Coat of Arms reflecting the global company status.

In 2019 PME launched the Five Star Sugar Artist course, which consists of 5 modules Royal Icing and Piping, Rolled Fondant, Sugar Flowers, Modelling and Sculpted Cakes. This course is designed for the cake decorator who wants to be pushed to their limits of skill, creativity and design and take on the ultimate challenge. awarded with a medal after the completion of the first module your are awarded with your first star pin and a medal with ribbon to display it on, once all five stars have been achieved you will be presented with a certificate.

 

JEM Cutters

JEM cutters were first born in 1981 just outside of Durban in South Africa, with the name JEM actually taken from Jill Elizabeth Maytham's name. The inspiration to start the business came from Neil Maytham who, over a period of time watched Jill and her students struggling with metal cutters.  With the engineering skills of director Neil and Jill's creativity the business began in the Maytham's garage. As demand for their plastic cutters and tools grew so did the need for larger premises, therefore in 1983 the move was made to a small factory in Pinetown.

1992 saw handcrafted sugar flower decorations exhibited in London and the introduction of readymade sugar decorations in large volumes as attention to detail and quality was recognised and the orders flooded in.

In January 2011 the business was purchased by Knightsbridge PME Ltd and has now moved to new, much larger premises in New Germany, South Africa. From this site Jem continues to grow to satisfy demand to supply major retailers with their bespoke and individually handcrafted 3d sugar shoes and other designs. Many of these requirements are developed with the research and development team, who work alongside the major bakeries often preparing months in advance. At the same time off the shelf Jem handcrafted flowers, sugar decorations and equipment continue to be easily recognisable across the world within specialist local stockists.
